Committee

Lily Bracegirdle
President
Second Year Music Student
Hello, I’m Lily and the OpSoc President for 2012-2013. My responsibility is to oversee the running of the society and to ensure that every member is provided with as many opportunities, (such as performance, workshops and socials) as possible throughout the year along with my committee. I am looking forward to programming an exciting and engaging year for the society; including a new opera composed for the society, in addition to less well-known operas to be performed, as well as some well-known favourites. Please feel free to contact me regarding anything; I am always here to listen and help!

Cicely Wills

Hi, I’m Cicely and I am your general secretary of OpSoc. It’s my job to make sure that OpSoc runs smoothly through booking rehearsal space, organising the registers and other general admin things. I’ will also be keeping you guys well informed about what’s going on with rehearsals, by sending you a weekly newsletter about times and changes. If you ever have a problem, feel free to contact me and I’d be happy to help

.

Clare Whiting
Treasurer
Second Year Music Student

Hi, I’m Clare and I’m the treasurer on the OpSoc committee of 2012-2013. I am responsible for filling lots of exciting forms and basically making sure we don’t spend too much money! I look through the accounts, budget for events, fundraisers and try to bat my eyelids at lots of nice companies to get them to sponsor us so that we can grow as a society.

Mia Bekvalac
Publicity & IT Officer
Second Year Music Student
Hello! I’m Mia and I’m responsible for promoting OpSoc and all the fantastic productions we put on throughout the year! I make all the posters you may see dotted around campus and also maintain this website. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Madeline Hale
Social Secretary
Second Year Music Student
Hello, I’m Maddie, the social secretary. I will be in charge of filling the OpSoc social    calender for the year. This ranges from the traditional trip to Mooch after the first rehearsal in September, to bar crawls, sports activities and formal meals. A big part of OpSoc is not only being in operas but going to see them. So there are plenty of opportunities to go to the opera in Nottingham. OpSoc is a very social society which welcomes everyone to get involved (and come to the pub after!). Hopefully see you soon!

Rosie Gawthrop
Producer
Second Year Music Student
Hello everyone, I’m Rosie, a second year Music student! My main responsibilities are managing the set, costumes and props for OpSoc’s performances. Feel free to come to me with any questions you may have! See you in September!!

James Blay
Musical Director
Third Year Music Student
Hello! I’m James, a third year music student and the resident music man this year in OpSoc. Anything that is sound is mine and I will attempt to prevent opera composers from turning in their graves this year.

Dan Parr
Répétiteur
Third Year Music Student
Hi! As répétiteur I’ll be responsible for the non-vocal side of the music, whether it involves organizing small chamber groups to accompany productions or attempting to play the piano. I’ll be happy to help at any/all rehearsals to ensure all productions run as smoothly as possible!
