Committee
Hi, I’m Jade and I’m very excited to be your new OpSoc president for 2011/12! My role is to lead OpSoc into an exciting year of opera and fun. I will be doing mainly admin work whilst guiding my fabulous committee into organising the events for the year. I am really looking forward to putting on such great performances and bringing great opportunities for everyone! Feel free to contact me; I would love to hear from you!

Madeleine Hale
Vice-President
First Year Music Student
Hey, I’m Maddie, I am the OpSoc Vice President.
My main role is assisting the President in the smooth running of the society. My individual responsibilities include writing the programme notes for performances and to organise the Freshers and Re-freshers Fayre.
I ensure OpSoc does it’s part in the community by encouraging charity work. This includes singing at nursing homes and participating in sponsored activities. Despite only being in my first year, OpSoc has already become a big part in my life and I encourage everyone to give it a go!
Hi I’m Kat and OpSoc’s General Secretary for 2011 to 2012. I will be responsible for the general administration of OpSoc; ensuring that all our events and rehearsals run smoothly throughout the year and informing members about OpSoc’s schedule through weekly email updates. I will also inform every one of any changes that have been made or any additional events and rehearsals. If any members are unsure of anything throughout the year, you can contact me and I will be happy to help.

Treasurer
Hello! As OpSoc’s treasurer, I am responsible for the financial side of the society, including budgeting, fundraising, and keeping track of the accounts. I aim to make sure your money is spent in the best way possible, and to end the year with more money than we started with! I would love to hear your ideas and opinions, so please get in touch!

Publicity & IT Officer
Hello! I’m Fiona and I’m a third year English student. I’m responsible for promoting Opsoc and all the fantastic productions we put on throughout the year! I make all the posters you may see dotted around campus and also maintain this website. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Social Secretary
Hey im Olivia and I study Art History, but have a great passion for singing and am a great advocate for the joy of singing with friends. I am really looking forward to being your Social Secretary this year and am eager to meet expectations, beginning with our traditional social at mooch after our first rehearsal and from then on there is much fun to be had this year, such as trips to the Opera and Christmas meals and so on. I am also always keen to take any ideas people may have about how to make our Opsoc social life even better! Look forward to hanging with you all!
Love Olivia.

Producer
Hello everyone, I’m Lily, a First Year Music student and newly appointed Producer! My main reponsibilities are managing the set, costumes and props for OpSoc’s performances. I am really excited to be a part of OpSoc’s summer production of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and I will strive to do everything possible to make it our best performance yet!
Hi! I’m Jeremy/Jez and I’m a third year music student. This year I will be OpSoc’s Musical Director. Essentially I am the music man: responsible for suggesting operas and helping people learn their music. I will also run most rehearsals. I aim to get as many people singing solos as possible, and hope to keep everyone in the society keen. If anyone wants any tips who maybe don’t have regular singing lessons, I am more than happy to help.

Répétiteur
Like all good pianists, Ed learnt his instrument one note at a time, starting with A and working his way up. In this, his final year at university, he hopes to conquer that tricky G-sharp and complete the set. He may even accompany a rehearsal or two.
